The history of literature, especially modern literature, offers various illegible texts that are quoted, mentioned, decontextualized and in the end known only partly or ever not at all. This perhaps shows that it’s not always necessary to have read a certain book so much as taken a look at its pages and introjected it to some extent. Tania Pistone works with the texts of Jorge Luis Borges, Ezra Pound and Charles Bruce Chatwin.
