8 NOVEMBER – 19 DECEMBER
BABS Art Gallery in collaboration with Brun Fine Art and Unlock decoding art is delighted to present the exhibition “VANITAS”. The project aims to destabilize the traditional perception of Vanitas, demonstrating how art and beauty can find new forms of immortality in a contemporary interpretation. In this exhibition, the concept of Vanitas is reinterpreted through the juxtaposition of sculptural works, representing the ideal of immortal beauty, with artist’s jewellery, a modern and individual manifestation of our time. A dialogue that offers the public a unique experience, inviting them to reflect on the mutability of aesthetic canons and personal identity.

5 DECEMBER – 25 FEBRUARY
Milan from December 5 to February 25, 2025. The show features a dozen wearable sculptures, including historical pieces never before displayed and new works created for the exhibition. Grazia Varisco, known for her work in Kinetic and Programmed Art since the 1950s, has never previously made her jewelry available to the public, but with the help of a goldsmith, she now presents these unique designs.
Varisco’s pieces reflect her rigorous exploration of space-time relationships and form, drawing on her broader artistic practice. Throughout her career, she has exhibited at major venues like the Venice Biennale, MoMA, and the Centre Pompidou. She began experimenting with jewelry in the 1980s, using materials such as aluminum, silver, gold, and diamonds to create dynamic, evolving forms that combine precision with playfulness. Highlights of the exhibition include A nodo mio (2022-2024), featuring silver necklaces and gold earrings, and Penta (2024), a satin-finished silver piece with geometric shapes. Varisco’s work is known for its dynamism and simplicity, with each piece reflecting a continuous evolution of thought and form. The Plié demi-plié series (2024) and Tre più tre (2024) demonstrate her love of movement and lightness, inspired by dance and her earlier sculptures.
Accompanied by a catalog with a critical essay by Paola Stroppiana, the exhibition offers a deep insight into the interconnectedness of Varisco’s artistic practice and her innovative jewelry designs.

FOCUS ON
LORIS CECCHINIBABS Art Gallery is thrilled to announce its collaboration with Italian artist Loris Cecchini in his first ever collection of jewelry.
Loris Cecchini (1969) lives and works in Milan. One of the most prominent Italian artist on the international stage, he has exhibited his works with solo shows in some of the world’s most prestigious museums and renowned art galleries.
The collection of jewelry, created specifically for the exhibition “Body Sculpture” at BABS Art Gallery, fits into the artist’s research on spatiality, proportion and modulation on a scale, as a result of generative transformations of thought. As Cecchini himself explains: “I have developed my artistic vocabulary around the concepts of object, model and architecture. Often my work refers in different ways to the idea of inhabiting the space. Today, I delve into the realm of sculpture and environmental installation, guided by the concept of material parcelization—almost akin to a molecular explosion of sculpture—where scientific phenomenology assumes an intimate structure and serves as a conduit for vision”.
