GIORGIO FACCHINI
Fano, 1947
Giorgio Facchini (born in Fano, 1947) is an Italian goldsmith and sculptor of international renown, known for transforming jewelry into a conceptual and sculptural art form.
He began working with jewelry at a young age in his uncle’s workshop, while also nurturing a passion for drawing. His artistic education deepened through his encounter with sculptor Edgardo Mannucci and further studies in Venice, where he explored contemporary art.
Facchini made his artistic debut with jewelry crafted using the cuttlebone casting technique, inspired by Informalism and Spatialism. In 1967, he received his first recognition at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice.
Over the following years, he developed a unique style blending sculpture and jewelry, creating one-of-a-kind pieces in gold and precious stones, often featuring kinetic elements and geometric forms.
His creations—exhibited in galleries and museums—are considered wearable sculptures, combining aesthetic beauty with conceptual depth in a refined balance.
